Port Charlotte PC7 is a 7 year old single malt Scotch whisky bottled at a cask strength of 61% ABV. It is gold in colour.
Neat, the nose shows coffee, pears and smoke. With water, the smokiness grows, with big farmy and coastal notes, freshly ground black pepper and walnuts. The palate is very strong neat, with fructose, salt and apple peel. Water brings out plenty of peat and smoke, along with more salt and hints of buttery pears.
The finish is very long, peaty and liquoricy, with a little ginger.
