A 21 year old Port Ellen from Islay, distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2003 by Silver Seal at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is tarry and mineral, with seaweed, seashells, a little diesel oil and a note of new rubber boots. The palate is oily, opening on lemon and peat before moving to oysters and kippers, with a slight fizz. The finish is rather long and peppery, with salt and brine in the aftertaste.
