Powers Gold Label is an Irish whiskey in a 1 litre bottle. It is cut from the heart of the distillate, which means more of the top and tail is thrown away than for any other Irish whiskey, and it matures in selected American oak casks.
On the nose are cinnamon, clove oil and white pepper alongside russet apples and ripe pears, over charred oak. The palate brings green peppers, nutmeg, orchard fruits, vanilla and toasted oak on a crisp barley core.
The long finish moves from pot still oils and spices to barley, toasted wood and honey.
