Powers – Three Swallow (70cl)

Powers Three Swallow is an Irish single pot still whiskey in a 70cl bottle. It is a modern take on how the original Powers tasted in the days of the John's Lane distillery, made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled in copper pot stills. The nose brings pot still spice and crisp barley, with herbs, green banana, grapefruit and a nutty marzipan note from the wood. On the palate, mouth-coating barley is followed by green apple and citrus, with herbs, spice and a touch of cedar. The finish moves from spicy sweetness to barley, a hint of sherry, crisp cereal and toasted oak.
