Premier Barrel Caol Ila 8 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl ceramic bottle. The Premier Barrel series takes its inspiration from the Victorian era, and only 364 bottles were produced of this one.
It is non-chill-filtered and free of added colouring. The nose brings the expected peat smoke, tar and barbecue spice. The palate stays strongly peaty, with black pepper, tanned leather and a pinch of sea salt.
