A blended Scotch whisky from Bladnoch, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It combines Bladnoch single malt with whisky from Speyside, the Highlands and Islay.
Pure Scot was created in 2015 by David Prior, who had recently bought the Lowland distillery, together with whisky writer Charles Maclean.
The nose is rich and fragrant, with old leather, toffee, fruit cake, malt and a hint of smoke. The palate is full-bodied and mellow, with smokiness, ginger marmalade, honeyed fruit and a little pepper. The finish is long, spicy and smoky.
