Queen Margaret Over 5 Years – Años 60 (75cl, 43%)

Queen Margaret Over 5 Years is a five-year-old whisky from the Union Whisky Company, in a 75cl bottle at 43% ABV. The nose begins with malt, hay and toasted caramel, followed by old wood, dry herbal notes, a slightly smoky background and hints of stone fruit such as apricot. On the palate it is very soft, light to medium in body and easy-drinking, with the alcohol well integrated. Honeyed flavours and vanilla return, along with a clear presence of wood and a gentle tannic bitterness. The finish is of medium length, with oak, a touch of pepper and a dry, woody aftertaste that lingers.
