Rampur Asava is an Indian single malt bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is made from 100% Indian barley, distilled in copper pot stills at Rampur Distillery in the Himalayan foothills of Uttar Pradesh, and it is non-chill filtered.
The whisky is matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in Indian Cabernet Sauvignon red-wine casks. It carries no age statement.
The palate has dark berries, black cherry and red-wine tannin over malt, vanilla and baking spice, with tropical fruit and a vinous layer from the Cabernet finish. The finish is long, drying and spicy.
