Rebecca Creek French Oak Straight Bourbon (75cl)

This is a Texas straight bourbon from Rebecca Creek Distillery in San Antonio, sold in a 75cl bottle. The distillery was established in 2010. The bourbon is finished in French oak casks, which have a tighter grain and a different tannin structure from American white oak. The finish is meant to add dried fruit and gentle spice to the Texas bourbon underneath. On the nose, vanilla and caramel come first, with dried fruit and spice behind them. The palate adds gentle tannin and a refined spice alongside the warmth of the bourbon, and the finish is medium to long.
