This is Redbreast 12 Year Old, an Irish pot still whisky bottled at cask strength.
The nose brings succulent exotic fruit and a little citrus, with deeper notes of dried apricot and sultana, plus pot still spice and toasted wood. On the palate it is rich, rounded and mellow, with fruit, the oils and spices of pot still whisky, vanilla sweetness and a touch of oak.
The finish is long, as fruit and spice give way to toasted oak and then barley.
