Redwood Empire Lost Monarch is a blend of straight whiskeys, named after the world's largest coastal redwood. It is bottled at 90 proof (45%). It combines straight bourbon, which brings caramel and vanilla, with straight rye, which gives a peppery spice backbone. The nose is rich and sweet, with butterscotch, vanilla bean, fresh mint and toasted almond. The palate is smooth and creamy, with dark brown sugar, sweet corn and apricot over a layer of warm rye spice. The finish is long and sweet, with cinnamon and oak.
