Remus Gatsby Reserve 15 Year is a cask strength straight bourbon from the George Remus brand, distilled at the Ross and Squibb Distillery (formerly MGP) in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. This is the first, 2022 edition, released to mark F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.
Master Distiller Ian Stirsman selected 15 year old bourbon matured in new charred oak, blended from two high rye mash bills, one of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley and one of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley. It is bottled at 97.8 proof (48.9%).
The nose brings dried candied fruit, caramelised pecans, old leather and tobacco. The palate has cherry, syrup, leather and walnut, and the finish is long with cinnamon, char and oak.
