Remus Repeal Reserve Series V is a limited edition straight bourbon from George Remus Bourbon, made at the Ross and Squibb Distillery (formerly MGP) in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof).
This is the fifth annual release, issued in September 2021 to mark the repeal of Prohibition on 5 December 1933. It blends five high rye bourbons from the 2005 to 2008 vintages, drawn from 21 percent rye and 36 percent rye mash bills, with the youngest aged 13 years.
The nose offers fruity caramel, raspberry, strawberry, apple, sweet corn and mellow oak. The palate is soft, with caramel, oak, cream soda, dried figs, ginger and honey. The finish brings tobacco leaf, leathery oak and a little walnut.
