This is a Fine Champagne Cognac from Rémy Martin, in a Year of the Dragon limited edition. It comes in an ornate red and gold gift box. The 1738 in the name marks the year King Louis XV granted the house the Accord Royal.
It is a blend of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne eaux-de-vie, aged between 4 and 15 years in toasted French oak casks. The house's barrel toasting deepens the caramel and oak notes.
The nose is toasted oak, butterscotch and ripe stone fruit with a hint of spice. The palate is velvety, with caramel, baked figs and dark chocolate over creamy oak and warm vanilla. The finish is long, with fruit and toffee and gentle spice.
