Rémy Martin VSOP is a Fine Champagne Cognac bottled at 40% vol in a 1 litre format. It blends eaux-de-vie from the Grande and Petite Champagne crus only, with at least half from Grande Champagne.
The grapes are mainly Ugni Blanc, with small amounts of Colombard and Folle Blanche. They are double distilled on the lees in copper alembics charentais, then aged in French oak casks.
The nose offers ripe apricot, baked fig, vanilla and baking spice, with jasmine and honeysuckle beneath. The palate is soft and round, with apricot, plum, black cherry, butterscotch and a little mocha, then ginger, black pepper and a hint of salinity. The finish is medium-long, with jasmine, toasted almond and warm oak.
