Rémy Martin VSOP Year of the Snake Limited Edition by Huang Yuxing (70cl, 40%)

This is a limited edition Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac made for the Year of the Snake, in a decanter redesigned by the Chinese contemporary artist Huang Yuxing. His vivid gold and magenta colours and flowing forms take their cue from the movement of a serpent. The Cognac is a blend of more than 200 eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne crus, aged in French Limousin oak barrels. The nose is bright, with ripe apricot, baked pear, vanilla, warm oak and a touch of dried rose. On the palate come honey, toasted almond and fresh plum with hints of cinnamon and clove. The finish is long, warm and gently spiced, leaving a soft sweetness.
