This is Rémy Martin XO Cognac in a limited-edition decanter for the Year of the Snake, designed by the contemporary Chinese artist Huang Yuxing. His design draws on renewal and transformation, and the colourful bottle holds the house's XO.
The cognac is a blend of more than 400 eaux-de-vie from the Grande and Petite Champagne crus, aged for between 10 and 37 years in French Limousin oak casks.
The nose offers ripe figs, candied oranges and jasmine, with cocoa, cinnamon and warm oak beneath. The palate is velvety, with plum, hazelnut, toffee and spice. The finish is long and warming, with honey, chocolate and soft spice.
