Reservoir Bourbon Whiskey (50%)

This is a bourbon from the Reservoir Distillery in Richmond, Virginia, bottled at 50% abv. It is matured in alligator char quarter casks: heavily charred casks of only about 50 litres, a quarter of the size of a standard 200 litre barrel. The nose brings roasted notes with vanilla, dark chocolate and leather. On the palate come coffee and a lightly nutty note, with a pleasant tannin structure. The finish returns with a gentle sweetness and hints of tobacco.
