Reservoir Rye Whiskey (50%)

This is a rye whiskey from the Reservoir Distillery in Richmond, Virginia, bottled at 50%. Part of its intensity comes from maturation in alligator char quarter casks, heavily charred casks of about 50 litres, a quarter of a typical 200 litre barrel. The nose offers honey, caramel and orange. On the palate vanilla, pleasant oak and dark chocolate join in, and the finish is strong.
