Rock Oyster Cask Strength Limited Edition No. 2 is a blended malt from Douglas Laing, bottled at 56.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The nose is fresh and salty, like a stormy sea, with iodine, phenols, seaweed, light peat smoke and white pepper over heather honey and citrus. The palate is intense and slightly dry, with a spicy character of ginger and chilli pepper, then toffee, heather honey and pineapple in syrup. Iodine, charcoal and a salty seawater taste dominate. The finish is long, warm and lasting, with sea salt, hot spice, clean oak and a smoky echo that fades slowly.
