A Costa Rican aged rum from the Fanal Distillery, distilled from fermented Costa Rican sugarcane molasses in continuous column stills. It is aged up to nine years in white American oak casks and carries a true age statement. The distillery sits at over 1,200 metres altitude, where thinner air and cooler temperatures slow the interaction between spirit and wood. Conmemorativo is drier and more assertive than the brand's 7-year expression.
Tasting Notes
Sweet honey and caramel, raisins, warm spices, subtle dried stone fruit and a faint winey quality.
Citrus, lemon zest and lemon oil, green banana, coconut, chocolate and vanilla.
Sharper finish hinting at sherry.
