This is a 28 year old Lowland Rosebank, distilled in 1965 and bottled by Signatory Vintage in 1993. It matured in a single first-fill sherry cask, which gave 180 bottles. It is notably dark, with a red coffee colour.
The nose is dry and chocolaty, with pipe tobacco, tarry notes and rancio in the background. On the palate come prunes, bitter chocolate, herbs and bone dry liquorice, in a very dry style. The finish is long, bitter and dry, with bitter chocolate throughout.
