First-fill bourbon barrel
A 32 year old Lowland single malt from Rosebank, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2024 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of its Recollection Series. It comes from a single first-fill bourbon barrel, which gave 141 bottles, and is sold in a 70cl bottle. Rosebank was opened in 1817 on the Forth & Clyde Canal and closed in 1993. This is among the oldest single malts the distillery has released. The nose is gorse flower, lime zest and a hint of milk chocolate, with dried banana and peanuts beneath. On the palate, honeycomb gives way to guava and passionfruit, then poached pear and vanilla fudge. The finish is medium-bodied, with creamy apple and tropical fruit.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
