This is a 12 year old single malt from Roseisle in Speyside, the Origami Kite II, released as part of the Diageo Special Releases 2024. It comes in a 70cl bottle in a tube.
The whisky matured in a combination of first-fill and refill American oak bourbon casks. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.6% ABV, without chill-filtration and without added colour.
The nose is mild and wine-like, with a slightly tart note of unripe redcurrants and sweet, creamy vanilla. The palate is soft and creamy, turning more complex and spicy with fruit. The finish is long and rich, with peppery warmth.
