This is the 2023 Special Release from Roseisle, a 12 year old single malt bottled at natural cask strength of 56.5% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon and refill casks, and the label is marked The Origami Kite.
The nose is gentle and well knit, with vanilla sweetness, a touch of molasses and some cereal, alongside fruit and nut notes. Vanilla sponge with buttercream icing builds over time, with ripe peach and white chocolate beneath.
The palate is soft, creamy and sweet, with vanilla icing before a more spiced richness arrives, and the sweetness lingers. The finish is long, richly sweet and gently peppery, with a touch of white pepper.
