Rosso Passo Rosso del Veneto Lenotti 2022

Rosso Passo is a red wine made from 50% Merlot and 50% Sangiovese. The grapes are grown on the eastern slopes of Lake Garda, on clay and moraine soils, and are trained using Espalier and Guyot systems. After harvest the grapes are gently crushed and fermented separately in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Following pressing and natural settling, the wines mature for some months in the same tanks before blending, with bottling at low temperatures to preserve the fruity and aromatic character. The wine is light and immediate, with a bright ruby colour and an open, clean aromatic fruit character of cherry, redcurrant, herb leaves and a little white pepper. The palate is fresh, with good concentration and complexity after a little aeration, and a balance between aromatic fruit tones and rounded structure.
