Royal Brackla 16 Year Old is a single malt finished in sherry casks, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery stands on the Cawdor estate and was the first allowed to use the 'Royal' title, after King William IV granted it a Royal Warrant in 1833. It received its own range of single malts in 2015.
The nose is clean and bright, with green apple, melon and pear, then honey and toffee sponge cake, light florals, ginger and cinnamon. The palate opens with honeyed fruit before cinnamon, ginger and clove, with a toffee richness. The finish is warming, with lingering spicy fruit.
