This is an 18 year old single malt Scotch whisky from Royal Brackla, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in Palo Cortado sherry casks, a style of sherry that sits between Amontillado and Oloroso and comes from a measured degree of oxidation.
The nose brings vanilla, spiced biscuits and a hint of clotted cream. On the palate are poached pears, plums and ripe peaches, followed by winter spices, demerara sugar and shortbread. The finish is smooth and drawn out, with smoked oak, candied apricots and lemon.
