Royal Brackla 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky from the Royal Brackla Distillery, founded in 1812 near Cawdor. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is matured for 18 years in American oak casks, first-fill, refill and recharred, then finished in Palo Cortado sherry casks. It belongs to the distillery's core range, relaunched in 2019.
The nose offers dark cherry, mahogany, toasted marzipan, leather, tobacco leaf and dried figs. The palate is silky, with stone fruit jam, raisins, dark caramel, clove and allspice. The finish is long and dry, with cocoa powder and dark honey.
