Royal Brackla 21 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery founded in 1812 near Cawdor. It was matured in American oak, then finished in three types of sherry cask: Oloroso, Palo Cortado and Pedro Ximénez.
It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle without chill filtration, and is released as a limited annual expression.
The nose brings aged leather, pipe tobacco, crystallised ginger, poached pear and dark honey. The palate is smooth and oily, with dark fruit cake, orange marmalade, toasted almond and nutmeg. The finish is very long and warm, with dry oak, dark cocoa and sweet tobacco smoke.
