This is Royal Lochnagar 16 Year Old, a single malt from the 2021 Special Release, bottled at 57.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery stands at Crathie, near Ballater by the River Dee in the Highlands, and takes its name from a nearby mountain. John Begg founded it in 1845. In 1848 Queen Victoria appointed him supplier to Balmoral Castle, about two kilometres away, which allowed the distillery to carry Royal in its name.
Since 2006 it has belonged to the Classic Malts of Scotland, and it is owned today by Diageo.
