Royal Salute 21 Year Old in the Emerald Flagon is a Scotch blend in which every whisky has matured for at least 21 years. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV, in a ceramic flagon made by Wade.
Chivas Brothers created Royal Salute in 1953 as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, and the first flagons were sealed on the day of her coronation. The name refers to the 21-gun salute.
The whisky is deep amber, with rich fruity aromas and the fragrance of autumn flowers. The palate is full and fruity with subtle smokiness, and the finish is long and lingering.
