Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Rye is a Kentucky straight rye from Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg, selected one barrel at a time under Jimmy and Eddie Russell. It is bottled at 52% (104 proof) in a 750ml bottle, non-chill-filtered.
The mashbill is 51% rye, 37% corn and 12% malted barley, and the whiskey is matured in number four char American oak. It carries no age statement.
The nose is soft caramel and earthy rye grain with vanilla, lemon pepper, herbal tea, and a faint trace of dill and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied and creamy, with brown sugar, butter toffee, cherry and cinnamon, building to black pepper. The finish is long and warming, with toasted caramel, leather, pipe tobacco and gingerbread.
