Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson F 2023 (75cl, 58.8%)

Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson F is a barrel-proof Kentucky straight bourbon from Wild Turkey, bottled at 58.8% ABV in a 750ml bottle and non-chill-filtered. It is the second release in the Single Rickhouse series, and this 2023 edition comes entirely from the centre-cut floors 4 and 5 of the Camp Nelson F rickhouse. The series looks at how the place a barrel rests shapes the whiskey. The centre-cut floors have steadier temperatures, which suits a deep, balanced maturation. The colour is a rich, dark amber. The nose opens with oak, vanilla and cinnamon before cherry, raisin and date. On the palate, clove and white pepper give way to caramel, orange peel and dark fruit. The finish is long, with honey and baking spice leading to tobacco and mature oak.
