Rutherford's Ceramic Flagon Velero (50cl, 40%)

This is a Rutherford & Co single malt Scotch whisky in a ceramic flagon, a 50cl bottle bottled at 40% ABV. The nose is led by prune, figs, raisins and orange marmalade, with touches of dark chocolate, almonds, warm oak and a spicy background with a hint of leather. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with the fruity sweetness of figs and raisins woven through toffee, bitter chocolate and toasted hazelnuts, and notes of cinnamon and nutmeg from sherried oak. The finish is long and balanced, leaving a soft memory of dried fruit, a touch of espresso and cocoa.
