Sagamore Spirit – Small Batch Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 46.5%)

Sagamore Spirit Small Batch Straight Rye is the flagship of the Baltimore distillery, made in the Maryland style and bottled at 46.5% in a 75cl bottle. It blends two straight rye mashbills: one of 95 percent rye and 5 percent malted barley, the other of around 52 percent rye with corn and malted barley. The whiskey is triple distilled, matured for four to six years in high char new American oak and married in batches of twenty barrels. It is reduced with limestone filtered water from the spring house at Sagamore Farm. The nose is warm baking spice and vanilla with a touch of fruit. The palate shows golden apple and baking spice, then caramel, honey and brown sugar. The finish is warm spice and honey through mild oak.
