Samalens Bas Armagnac 1985 (70cl)

A Bas Armagnac from Samalens, distilled from the 1985 vintage and presented in a wooden box. The nose shows dried fruit, dark jam, caramel and tobacco, with sweet spices and well-integrated wood adding depth. The palate is soft and enveloping, with balanced warmth, velvety tannins and a lingering finish recalling bitter cocoa and candied orange peel. It is suited to the end of a meal, with dark chocolate, aged cheeses or a quality cigar, and benefits from a few minutes' breathing in a tulip glass.
