Samalens Millesimé 1996 Bas Armagnac (70cl)

This is a 1996 vintage Bas Armagnac from Samalens, made from selected wines of the Bas Armagnac region, including a small area traditionally known as Grand Bas Armagnac. It is distilled in a pot still. The spirit rests in Gascony oak pièces, first in lofts under the roof, where summer heat is stronger and winter colder, and then in rooms where the temperature is steadier. It is bright with a slightly amber colour. The nose shows fruity notes recalling grapes, the palate is well balanced and very round, and the finish is warm and persistent.
