A Barolo Riserva from the Sarmassa area, Vigna Bricco, vintage 2019. It shows a deep ruby colour with garnet shades. The bouquet ranges through dried flowers, ripe cherry and plum, with earthy, tobacco and light spicy undertones. The palate has important structure, well-defined but polished tannins and lively acidity, with compact fruit and sustained sapidity. It suits braised meats, roast meats and aged cheeses. Decanting helps it open, and patient cellaring should further develop its complexity. Serve around 16-18 °C.
