Anthem is a New Zealand single malt from the Scapegrace Distillery near Lake Dunstan in Central Otago. It is made from New Zealand malted barley and bottled at 46% ABV.
The whisky is matured in a mix of bourbon casks and New Zealand Pinot Noir casks, and produced in small batches at a carbon-neutral distillery.
The nose brings honeyed malt, toasted oak and vanilla pod, with stone fruit, cocoa and red berry. On the palate it is full-bodied, with caramelised malt, dark fruit and cinnamon, and the Pinot Noir casks add a gentle berry sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with vanilla, oak and dark chocolate.
