Scarabus Cask Strength is an Islay single malt from the Hunter Laing house, bottled at 57% ABV. It is a peated, intense expression, with each cask chosen for its aromatic strength.
The nose brings dense, elegant peat smoke, sea salt and iodine, cold ash, spiced vanilla, leather and toasted wood. The palate is broad and creamy, with dark chocolate, candied orange zest, pepper and charred oak. The finish is long, with refined, slightly salty smoke, malty sweetness and a subtle bitterness.
