This is Edition No.28 from Whisky Sponge, a 30 year old single malt Scotch whisky from an unnamed distillery in Rothes, Speyside. It was distilled in 1990 and comes from two refill hogsheads that were combined for this bottling.
It is bottled at 48.5% ABV, with a slight reduction in strength, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is described as classic mature Speyside that is still fresh, with honeysuckle, grass, hay, soft waxes, dessert wines and baked apple. The palate is lightly waxy, lemony and honeyed, with ripe green and orchard fruits.
