Shibui 10 Year Old Single Grain Bourbon Cask (75cl, 40%)

This is a 10 year old single grain whisky from Shinzato Distillery in Okinawa, Japan, in a 75cl bottle. It is made from indica long-grain rice, fermented with Okinawan black koji and distilled in a single stainless-steel pot still. The whisky spent its ten years maturing in ex-bourbon American oak. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour, and was distilled, matured and bottled in Okinawa. The tasting notes mention crème brûlée, cracked black pepper and spiced oak, with fresh pastry on the nose. The finish is described as long and sweet, with pepper and oak.
