This is Shimai, a World Blended Whisky from Japan, released to commemorate the long shared history between Japan and Scotland. The name comes from the Japanese word for "sisters" and is an ode to the sisterly partnership between the two countries and the whisky mentorship that came from it. In Japan, a female mentor may be called "Shimai" even if the two are not related.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
