A small batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Shortbarrel, aged for a minimum of five years and bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It blends bourbon sourced from Bardstown Bourbon Company and Green River, which is then re-barrelled in new medium toasted barrels for at least six months.
The toasting shapes the whiskey: the nose has deep cherry, maple, almonds, burnt apple and burnt brown sugar, with lingering oak. Vanilla oak leads on the palate alongside toasted honey nut cereal and pecans, with hints of orange, cherry and peach. The finish is long, with toasted sweet oak, a note of lightly toasted popcorn and a steady vanilla thread.
