This is a 14 year old Singleton of Glen Ord, bottled for the 2024 Special Releases. It belongs to the Spirited Exchange Second Edition, released under the theme What If.
The whisky matured in ex-bourbon, renewed ex-wine and refill casks. After 10 years it moved into a mix of experimental European oak and unusual Pyrenean oak casks for further maturation. It was bottled at natural cask strength.
The nose is gentle, with orange cream turning to orange biscuit and vanilla, over waxy almond flakes and a light green note of sugar snap peas. The palate is creamy, sweet and tart, with Seville orange peel and a peppery flavour that leaves the fruit in place.
