Singold 5 Year Old is a peated German single malt, bottled by Malts of Germany as Batch 2 at 47% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in tawny port and bourbon casks, and 818 bottles were filled without chill-filtration or added colour. The Singold distillery in Wehringen was founded in 2017.
Ripe cherries, chocolate and vanilla come with peat on a full, powerful nose. The palate combines warm peat and dark fruit, with the fruit fading to a light smoke and the alcohol well integrated. The finish is long and dry, with dark chocolate and a little oak spice.
