Smoke Wagon – Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Smoke Wagon Straight Bourbon is a straight bourbon first released in the autumn of 2019. It was made to deliver the house character of delicate sweetness with a rye spice finish. The barrels hold a high rye mash bill and were racked on the top two floors of the warehouse, where they were never rotated. The upper floors get hotter in summer, which makes the spirit expand and move further into the wood. Leaving the barrels in place is said to avoid harsh tannin. The bourbon is non-chill-filtered and is described as rich and creamy. The high rye content brings a spicy, nutty finish.
