Smokehead High Voltage is an Islay single malt bottled at 58% ABV. It is the amped-up expression of Smokehead, built around peat smoke, sea spray and spice.
The nose combines peat and smoke with fresh sea air, then oats, vanilla and creamy toffee. On the palate the smoke is thick and oily, softening to something creamier, with nuts, brine, citrus, seaweed and smoked bacon. The finish is long and salty, with dark chocolate and a darker sweetness alongside slowly fading smoke.
