Smokehead High Voltage Islay Single Malt (70cl, 58%)

Smokehead High Voltage is a high-strength Islay single malt, bottled by Ian Macleod Distillers at 58% in a 70cl bottle. It is a special edition that was first introduced in 2018, and it is built around smoky intensity. The nose is intense peat and smoke with maritime air, porridge oats, clean vanilla and toffee. A burn of hot spirit on the palate brings smoke and an oily texture that softens and turns creamier, with nutty, briny and citrus notes. The finish leaves the mouth tingling, with sweetness mixing into slowly fading smoke and ending on a salty tang.
